I picked up this rollbar from a local forum friend for another friend who was interested in tracking his Miata. Neither of us was sure what brand or model it was at the time but I knew it would help get him onto the track. It turns out to be the Hard Dog M1 Hard Core Hardtop (this means it fits both hard and soft tops) X-Brace model (their newest and strongest variation). It apparently retails for $535 plus $95 shipping from them (total of $630 for the mathematically impaired).

For those who are interested, it is compatible with the Hard Dog bolt-in harness bar as well.
The rollbar was ordered from Hard Dog with a custom powdercoating color of metallic gold, for those of you who are bored with the standard black. It has proven quite durable during my cleaning of decals and a bit of overspray off of the bar with solvents. It would, however, be easy for someone to replicate a factory black finish with a couple of cans of semi-gloss black if a more understated look was desired.
As is occasionally the case with used rollbars, one of the backing plates has somehow become misplaced. Replacements are easily available from Hard Dog or, as I had planned, could be made with a small piece of scrap steel and a drill at little or no cost to the purchaser. The rest of the hardware appears to be present and in good condition.
The M1 Hardtop series is compatible with hardtops and soft tops but does not allow enough room for a factory glass back window to fold all of the way down. It is therefore recommended to be used with a plastic back window if a soft top is employed. My friend, as it turns out, has a larger than factory size glass back window that would not be a good match for this bar. That is why it is up for sale.
I can deliver the rollbar to many points in the central Florida area and to the Atlanta -ish area within a couple of weeks if need be. That is included in the price.
$425
Boxing and shipping is not entirely out of the question but not preferred.
Pics to follow when time allows.
Details available here: Miata Hard Core Hardtop Bar
I just carried the rollbar out into the morning sunshine for some pictures and there are some blemishes in the gold finish that were less apparent inside the garage. There is also some fun sun-fading that I took a picture of as well.
For anyone wanting to do track days, this will get you legal to go play!

To the buyer of this hard top - I bought my hd used, and it was missing the plates and a couple bolts. So:
1. The hd folks are super friendly and good about selling the bits you need to make it whole.
2. I have some hardware left over (I just bought the complete hardware set for mine, so lots left over). If you end up missing a bolt or two pm me.

MS is a bit off the path for me. I don't know of anyone else going west soon that would have room. I could go as far as Tallahassee (4 hrs from me), if that helps.

Steve, I would be interested if someone buys my manifold and down pipe.
Do you know anyone interested in a BEGI 1.8 cast manifold and DP?

For those who have inquired, the bar is still for sale but for local pick up only as long as my father is in the hospital.
I won't be traveling until he is well.
Thanks for all of the interest and the many, many PM's. My inbox overfloweth.
