I own a body shop in Campbell, CA and I know you mentioned you won't ship, but I have an insurance job for a 2001 Mazda Miata. I will pay whatever the shipping cost is along with any surcharge you would like to add on for the inconvenience.

sorry but the car along with the hardtop was sold today.
look on craigslist, I'm sure you can find a hardtop locally
