NA6 and 1.8 VVT spares selling CHEAP
Finished swapping a 1.8 VVT into my NA6 and want to sell off the NA6 and 1.8 VVT spares. I want this all gone ASAP
Heavy discounts for package deals!!
Local pickup strongly preferred. Merritt Island FL, 45 minutes from Orlando
NA6 part history:
Bought a '93 in California in summer 2015 with 170k miles. At ~180k miles, the ECU failed so I put in a megasquirt and had it dyno tuned at 105 WHP. Drove the car to Florida when I moved and used it as my daily until I pulled the entire driveline at ~195k miles to do the swap. Never gave me issues besides the failed ECU
1.8 parts history:
Bought a 1.8 VVT engine from the UK and rebuilt it. 1.8 parts seen here are spares from that engine. Engine was pulled with around 100k miles
NA6 Engine: $300
Long-nose crank, no wobble. Didn't test the compression before pulling, but it ran strong with no weird noises and did not burn oil. Slow leaks from the front and rear main seals
5 speed transmission: $75
No issues, but it made the typical 5-speed buzz when coasting in gear for the 25k miles I had it in the car. Oily from the leaks on the engine
NA6 open diff: $50
It works. It doesnt leak
NA6 driveshaft and Axles: $50
Whole set. Boots are in tact and U-joint is solid
NA6 undertray set: $15
Complete with no cracks, but a little warped. Overspray from when the previous owner got the car painted
NA6 radiator and fan: $25
Did not leak when pulled, but has been shelf surfing for a while. One fan since it came from a car with no AC. Fan has a new VDO motor
NA6 OEM shock set: $15
No leaks or rust but unknown mileage. The boots are pretty shredded
NA6 Air Box with AFM and ducting: $15
Worked when pulled. No leaks or cracks
1.6 and 1.8 exedy clutch + flywheel + pressure plates: $25 each
One set of each. Seem to be in good shape if dusty
1.8 VVT exhaust manifold: $25
No obvious signs of leaks. Includes heat shield
Grab bag parts: Make an offer
Not looking to price this stuff out individually. Parts not sold shortly will probably just get scrapped. Items include:
1.8 VVT engine mounts
1.8 VVT coil-on-on plug set
1.8 power steering pump
1.8 VVT fuel rail, injectors, and wiring
1.8 VVT oil pump
1.8 VVT water neck
1.8 VVT fuse box and incomplete wiring
1.8 starter
NA6 engine mounts
NA6 ignition coil with NGK park plug wires
NA6 CAS
NA6 brake discs
NA tail lights. still watertight but look gross

the motor is still available for local pick up. My understanding is that all NA6 engines are drop in replacements, long nose or short nose. I would recommend a little research and not just take my word for it

To get the engine on a pallet and freighted from a residential address would cost as much or more than the engine is worth. All-in, you'd be within a hundred bucks of a 1.8 shipped to your door from one of the commercial resellers on this forum (they can get much lower shipping rates). If you find a reseller with 1.6s in stock, they'd be able to come in well below my pricing + shipping
The 1.6 to 1.8 swap is not hard. If you're looking for a 1.6 swap to save a little time and money, I'd recommend sourcing locally

Thanks
Ok, thanks man.
not sure I want to 1.8 swap it. I'll keep looking local.
One guy in town has a good bottom end, but its from a 1995. He says it's compatible, but I don't know enough about all the years. He's asking 300 just for the bottom end, seems steep when complete motors aren't a whole lot more.
