Default Knock Sensor Stud for Bosch Knock Sensor

I needed a knock sensor stud for mounting my Bosch knock sensor (Bosch KS4-P), and I couldn't find anything online that works, so I made a batch. Made of 316SS, so corrosion will not be an issue.

M10x1.25 (Stock NA/NB Miata knock sensor thread pitch) to M8x1.25.

Have Qty 45 available, $25 shipped. Can work out Qty discounts if more than one is required.

This is tempting, as I was just looking for a solution to this problem. I think I'm going to try drilling out one of my sensors first. I might be able to justify the cost if I destroy a sensor with the drill.

Yeah, I didn't want to drill out a sensor that senses vibration, but it honestly probably would be fine?

In any case, I have plenty of these studs left, and they work so lmk if you want one!

Any idea if this works on a 1.6 block? Looking for a solution.

No issue, other than also needing to space out the oil pressure sensor

I'll update the listing. I hadn't had access to a 1.6 block, so I wasn't able to confirm myself.

Does/can this fit where the FM motor mount one goes? I've tried both locations and it was really difficult for me to get consistent data from the 2/3 cylinder location. So bad I just gave up lol

Fits the 1.6 block just fine. I have one on my 1.6 installed.

I'm having trouble finding images/information for the FM mount, but this stud can go anywhere that has an M10x1.25 threaded hole.

You’ll have to relocate your oil pressure sensor to make a knock sensor fit or get this extension. It’s cheaper and easier. This is what I did.

Are you saying you screwed your knock sensor into that tee? I have a tee already actually as I need an oil feed port, and I'm putting in a Bosch oil pressure/temp sensor that is compact and comparable in size to the OEM dummy pressure sensors. Won't I need this stud anyway regardless of the oil pressure sensor being in the way?

Ah yeah, I'm using an aftermarket oil pressure sensor with my Haltech so I have a lot more room. I have a friend who installed one with a stock oil pressure sender, but it looked like he had some sort of oil filter relocation in there so there was a tiny bit more room.

yes you’ll need the stud for your knock sensor.
No, the knock sensor does not go on that tee. The tee is just to move the oil pressure sender out of the way enough for the knock sensor to fit on the stud.

I believe there were 2 oil pressure senders depending on year. The 1.6 models has the big one which is definitely in the way and requires this tee, the 1.8s may have a smaller sender and not require it. Not sure on that.

Yeah, when I mentioned dummy OEM pressure sensor I was referring to the smaller 1.8 sensors.
