Fully Built 1.9L Motor Still for Sale
Bringing this For-sale back from the dead: $3300
1.8 litre Jap spec GTX motor borred out “40 over” to 1.92L, Wiseco turbo pistons, Crower H rods, ARP head and main studs, stage 3 ported head and heavy duty valve springs, RC Engineering 550cc injectors, completely balanced rotating assembly, PSITech stand alone engine management system with realtime display of EGR, boost, coolant temp, intake air temp and A/F, VF8/10 hybrid turbo with internal wastegate, Front mounted intercooler painted black for stealthiness, dyno sheeted proven 300+ whp, Greddy Type S BOV, lightened flywheel.
If you are putting this into a Miata, the oil pan needs to be swapped and the exhaust manifold won't fit, you'll have to buy one from Begi or FM.
I built this thing to handle 450whp. I made a really bad choice of turbos and after everything was tuned I didn't want to spend another grand on another turbo and whatever else on tuning. Know that this motor will handle it though.
The Stage 3 heads had the following work done: 5 angle valve grind, heavy duty valves installed, 20% increase in flow numbers from PSITech's inhouse flowbench through extensive porting. A mild polish smoothening all edges but not enough to shave with, cause thats ricey. Special attention paid to port matching at all mating surfaces.
Make some offers, this thing is taking up space in my basement.
Price does not include shipping, although I have found a company that is pretty cheap for that within North America. Oh yeah, AND I live in Grande Prairie Alberta.

Keep in mind that anyone who plans to purchase this for an M2 will need an M1 1.8 Intake manifold as the ports will not line up correctly when using a 99+ intake manifold. Otherwise it is quite a nice motor and from a Canuck!
I might have a 1.8 M1 Intake manifold which I can swap for a 99-00 Intake Manifold If anyone needs it.

That is the first I have heard about the intake mani. I will have to look into that before confirming.
And yes meaty, hi. I apologize for that, it is completely crated up and I don't have any excuses for you. I just forgot to get backto you and by the time I remembered (weeks later) I felt rather embarressed over the whole thing.

OUt of curiosity the port spacing looks the same between the two motors, only the bolt pattern is offset vertically? Seems like you could cut off the flange and move it up, or get a flange off a NB.
Alternatively, I was thinking you could take the manifold from the GTX, and weld it to the other side - just cut off the fitting and bore a hole and move it over.
My question is, then, is this 1.8l GTX basically an NA 1.8 with a turbo, different pistons?

Not sure if the intake manifold will be easy to modify if it is like the one in this picture. Nevermind the TBody and Electronics are like 1.6 Miata electronics. IIRC.

More good info, thanks!
The electronics I almost couldn't give two pisses about - it's all custom anyway. I was hoping a band saw and a welder would fix the GTX manifold up for RWD configuration, and then maybe I'd look at modding one of my manis for use with this thing.

Correct.. Spacing is the same, just the holes are moved vertically which causes the issues.
Flange of an NA you mean? But yes, you could weld on a new flange to your 99-00 Intake Manifold.
1.8 NA is very close to 1.8 GTX with different pistons. GTR motor had the sodium filled valves.
