Another post where Magna badmouths FMIC's while he sports a ratfucked engine bay!

Yeah...
FMIC = necessary with 6~7+ psi and WI = nice addition but you can run out of water/mth mix and then what run 5psi till ya get to somewhere :gay: Why not run WI in tandom w/map select ? Even better you get normal boost above 6 psi, like 12 w/FMIC of course and then hit the switch and WI is engaged with boost bumped via EBC to 17 or so. Use it when ya want to and don't rely on it 100% to run over 6psi. You gotta be carefull posting so much about WI replacing FMIC.. This gives neewbs the idea that they won't need fmic then what happens when they run outta water and don't have thier **** straight and blow somthin up FMIC or at least an IC is a stardard part of good turbo system, fmic = reliable will never fail shy of a rock piercing it or a tube blowing off but that could happen anyway. WI introduces many potential points of failure especially for those that arn't all that electrically savy and those that don't insulate hoses and wires with extra tubing where they could rub.. Wi is badass but not a full out fn replacement for WI unless you enjoy going to buy the mix for it and always have time to go deal with that.. Misleading newbies is lame..

The water slows combustion ...like race gas. Thats how you get away with the additional timing and boost. Thats how you make waaay more power than with an intercooler alone. Its the cheapest 15-50 whp you can get!

Ten gallons of distilled water: $7
One spare gallon jug, for mixing: $0
Five quart "G-Man" go-kart fuel tank in the trunk: $28
Only having to refill once a week: Priceless.
There are some things money can't buy. For everything else, there's Boost.

Yeah Joe you def did it right, way to represent :-) This is what I'm talking about a safe install well thought through. When I do go WI, this route is the basis of what I'm gonna do (I got lucky, exede will control WI and do it on map bank select basis, so some some changes there but I love the safety aspects of your install).

The subsequent reaction from said neighbor (and the fact that he then proceeds to tell everyone who will listen that "Joe runs methanol in that little Miata of his") is better than the reaction when they see "Oh, it's an intercooler. Just like Ted's pickup truck. (yawn)"

Another guy made big power with a FMIC and a DO kit. Audi 1.8T with a GT3071r. He was previously limited to 328 whp on pump gas. He just dynod at 380 since he was able to add so much more timing and boost. This is on 91 octane.
