VTPS not working only with car running
We installed a Bosch TPS as we converted to the MS PNP2. The TPS works (reading on laptop on Throttle Pos dial) when the car is switched on but not running. When the car is running, the TPS doesn't work. I thought it was the TPS so I bought another TPS. If I plug the TPS in my hand to the harness, the TPS seems to read out on the laptop (appears to be working). So, I swapped the 2 TPS'. But I get the same result, the one attached to the throttle body only works while the car is switched on but not running. But the one in my hand will work when I plug it into the harness, running or not running. I even went through the iteration of switching on the car with the TPS in hand plugged into the harness and it works both with the car running and not running. The only difference seems to be the TPS attached to the TB doesn't work while the car is running. I even insulated the metal on the TPS from the car and nothing. I don't understand why it only works when not attached to the TB. HELP!!!!

We did calibrate the TPS with the MS such that it reads when the switch is on but not running. And again, either TPS will work (read on the laptop 1-100%) as long as the TPX is not on the throttle shaft.
And Braineack, I do believe the TB shaft is turning the vTPS because with the switch on (not running) you can get the 1-100% response by using the gas petal.
One other fact, we are using TPS part number 13631710559. It was cross referenced from one of the 2 Bosch part numbers referenced for a direct bolt up TPS from a BMW. This one has a 3 wire connector that is the same as on the car already. We just had to swap the wire locations on the car connector.
This is a weird problem. Planning to work on the car tonight again. Help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Bobby

OK Problem solved. The 13631710559 is NOT a variable TPS. So, when it was not running, we went full throttle to check the TPS and it went to 100% on the laptop. With car running, we never went full throttle and hence never saw the response to 100 %. With the part in my hand and plugging it into the wiring harness, I must have turned the TPS a full 90 degrees and it would show 100% on the laptop. So, It was operator induced error. I appreciate the help.
And don't use 13631710559 as a replacement to get a variable response.
Thanks,
Bobby
