Starter Motor Cranking Speed 200rpm normal??
I have starting problems. The cranking speed for my starter motor is 200rpm according to my ecu readout. Is that normal? I have a voltage drop of 10volts from 12volts from the ecu readout I guess I also need to check with a voltmeter.
What should be the normal cranking speed of a starter motor on an MX5 1.8?
Thanks in advance.

350 to 400 rpm would make better sense.
When I crank the engine it takes a good 10 seconds before it catches.
Also the coil pack has been changed to a ford focus. This idiot garage who tuned my car gave me all sorts of problems.
He had set fire to my engine bay so I am concerned that the starter motor may have gone faulty because of that.
Avoid that garage!
