Default software install- easy therm s19 file

2) GM IAT and Mazda CLT

i) Once the laptop is connected to the ECU open EasyTherm
ii) Change the 'Code Version' (towards the bottom on the RHS of the screen) to "Custom"
iii) Change the port to your port (COM 1 or what-ever it is) on the bottom of the screen
iv) Change the 'Coolant Temp' settings to your desired settings ***(see below for the settings most people use)
v) Once you have changed the settings, click on the "Write .inc and .s19 Files" button on the bottom of the EasyTherm screen
vi) The file that you want to write to is the 'msns-extra.s19' file in the "EFI" folder in the MSnSE file that you unzipped to earlier.
vii) Then click on the "Download to Megasquirt" button on the bottom of the EasyTherm screen. This will open the file that you wrote to before, BUT it will default to the 'msns-extra.s19' file. You NEED to download the 'msns-extr.a.s19_mod' file the instructions in EasyTherm to do the download BUT you don't] need to install the Boot Jumper.
ix) Once this has finished you will need to copy the "airdenfactor.inc", the "matfactor.inc" and the "thermfactor.inc" files from Program Files > EasyTherm into Program Files > Megasquirt > MegaTune2.25 > mtCfg
x) Then once that is all done, open MegaTune, check that the commuincations is going through the same COM port as before, and if you see the guages in MegaTune giving some readings you can now download your .msq onto the ECU and you're good to go.

When I click on the "Write .inc and .s19 Files" button I am not given a choice of what file to write to. How do I choose?

Then, when I click on "Download to Megasquirt" button, where is the 'msns-extr.a.s19_mod' file?

This software **** is driving me nuts! I've installed and uninstalled MT and 029v and 029y4 and easy therm and this and that countless times and followed everybody's directions and am still having problems.

I feel I am getting warmer but...we'll see.

Anybody in Hawaii?

I was in Kona up untill today. Supersuk lives there.

In order for you to be able to chose the file you want to modify with easytherm you have to set it to Custom. Then when you click the write .inc and .s19 files button it will give you the choice. Then it will write the msns-extra_mod.s19 file to the same directory that the original msns-extra.s19 firmware file is located.

What I like to do instead of flashing the MS with easytherm is using the MSII downloader to install the new firmware mod file.

Got it. I had selected custom and after that at some point had selected GM default which unselected custom.

So when I hit download to MS, it will flash it for MSNS if MSI is currently on there?

I should now be good to go with a .msq?

After you click the button you have to select the correct file. If you did that then everything should be fine. So yes, you can load a good msq.
