Shadow Dash MS messing up your ECU settings?
I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this problem that I just discovered this past weekend.
So I've been using Shadow Dash MS for years now as my datalogger and tune loader. I never drive the Miata without it as I have a sweet dash display built, and I always datalog and VE analyze in TS to tweak my tune, and then I use Shadow Dash to load that new tune into the ECU.
Anyway, as I had to pass emissions this past weekend, and I had to use the laptop TunerStudio to tweak the timing in certain zones to pass NOx. When TunerStudio linked up with the ECU which it hadn't done in a LONG time, TS gave me all kinds of warnings of mismatched settings! Basically, the ECU had a lot of wrong ideas. Settings like EGO sensor type was Narrow band (ECU) instead of Wide band (tune) and Fixed spark angle was -4 (ECU) instead of -10 (tune). I can't even remember the other mismatches, but there were about 10.
Has anyone else had a problem like this with Shadow Dash MS? I love the product, but I don't know if I can trust it anymore. And it seems that Shadow Dash wants to LOAD a config to the ECU every time it links up with it, so I can't just use it as a dash and datalogger anymore without worrying about it screwing up the ECU.

It needs to load a config to be able to read and display the ECU data.
I haven't had any issues with it, but I only use it for small tweaks to my tune. Most of my tuning is done on my laptop.
