Setting up Launch Control

Setting up Launch Control
I'm new to Megasquirt so bare with me.I have been talking to some people about setting up launch control for my manual 1993 miata, and finally someone said I need a variable tps to make it work.
So my question is, is that right? Do I just mount an auto throttle body to have a variable tps? Once i get the tps on, how do i set up launch control then?

Yes you need variable TPS for it to work well. 90-93 manual cars don't have it. You'll need to source a VTPS from another car (a lot of people use one from old BMW's). Then you'll need to mount it on your throttle body and wire it up. You can figure out which wire is which with a multimeter. In megasquirt, you preform a two point calibration so that it knows the bottom (0%) throttle voltage level and the top (100%) throttle voltage level. From there you enable TPS based enrichment (because you now can), and you can set up launch control in that tab.
Take my advice with a grain of salt because I am also new at this, but that's how I did it and it works perfectly. Also search next time so you won't incur the wrath of the forum gods.

Here's the deal. VTPS is used for
TPSDOT based Accel Enrichment
TPS based Elec Boost Control
Flood Clear
Alpha-N limp mode (rarely implemented, I suspect)
Launch Control
Closed Loop Idle (though 0 / 100 can work)
Over-run Fuel Cut (though 0 / 100 can work)
CLT based rev limiter over-ride
Fan and / or A/C shut-off
Post AFR cut fuel return
Starting the conversation around Launch Control struck me as a veiled, "how can I get my car to shoot flames?" rather than, "how do I properly set up a MS'."

So i set up a BMW TPS and it works fine, I calibrated it and now my throttle position in tunerstudio shows where i am.
When i go to set up launch control after i turn off/on the car to burn it, it pops up with this message. I also noticed that in the features list showing I/O pins, the launch input is turned off. Not sure if this has anything to do with it.
