Sequential Shift Lights
So that other people know...
If you want to build and use the sequential shift lights for your Megasquirt, as seen here:
http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra/shiftlight.html
It won't work. The circuit says you need to connect to JS7 and JS8 (on the V3 boards). However, JS8 is occupied by the cam sensor signal in our builds, so if you connect the shift lights to JS8, you will flood the cam signal with +5V, and the car won't start (Megasquirt won't register any RPM). What you can do, is leave out the logic stage all together, and connect the transistor stages (at the 1K resistor at the base of the 2N2222 transistor) to JS2, JS3 and JS7.
Now go to Megatune -> Outputs and select RPM based triggering, set the low and mid trigger RPMs in output1 and output2 (I use 53 for 53000RPM, 64 for 6400RPM) and finally, go to Shift Lights/Output 3+4, and set the upper limit RPM for the high (ie red led) shift light - I use 7600.
Done!
