Running MS3Pro off 36-2 wheel and CAS for CAM position?
I'm currently slowly modifying the 145k mile old 1996 motor to all the NA mods i'll be running on the BP6D going in soon (380cc flow force injectors, sequential COP spark, CBR1000RR ITBs, etc...). Figure get all the bugs worked out on a motor i don't care about.
One thing I just picked up for a song was an unused ATI damper and FM 36-2 trigger wheel and would like to get the NA8 motor running using the NB2 crank sensor while using the original CAS for cam position only.
Has anyone accomplished a similar setup and what settings in tunerstudio were used ?
I've read somewhere modifying the CAS to only put out 1 pulse per cycle (where it normally outputs 4 square pulses) should work with the 36-2 wheel settings in tunerstudio but i'd prefer to leave the working CAS alone.

As others have stated basically the CAS pigtail has 2 wires for cam sensor and 2 for crank sensor. when you go to a bp6d/bp4w you cut the cas pigtail and send 2 to the crank sensor and 2 to the cam sensor. I don't think this is easily applicable using a crank sensor and a CAS. that being said you can throw a 99/00 valve cover on and achieve the same thing until you throw your bp6d setup in.

I fully grasp getting it running on a bp4w valvecover, i take pulley, and cam sensor. I just dont want to waste the $ and time going through a full timing belt install for a month or so b4 i start the bp6d install.
I think ive accepted I'll need to modify the internals of the CAS to simulate the bp6d / bp4w cam sensor. Just looking for guidance

Curious if you figured out the CAS mod? Anyone able to help here? Similar problem myself. I’ve got a 96. Recently added a 36-2 trigger wheel wired into one of the CAS signals. Having sync issues and it sounds like I need to modify the CAS to only see one pulse per revolution? I do not want to swap to an NB valve cover because I have a Cut cover that I spent 20 hours polishing to a mirror…. 😂
