Rev MS3 basic Issue with EBC closed loop
I purchased this EBC
Electronic Boost Control Solenoid Kit
And have set the car up to where I feel its time to start playing with it now that I have a decent tune and the car runs pretty well.
I when I installed MS3 basic hooked up and did all of the wiring for the EBC at the same time. So when I felt like playing with it, it was ready to go.
The issue I am having is this.
Turn closed loop Boost control on. Start car......
Sit at double the Fuel load I would normally run at idle, have -3psi (and 9.3 AFRs) readings from my boost guage (Normally its at -20 at idle).
Thats how I have the EBC hooked up currently.....
If I turn the Closed loop off, Restart the car.... -20 psi and idles perfect at 14.7~ AFRs.
I am more talking aloud at this moment.
But I feel one of two things are happening.
1. I have switched the EBC ports for signal and wastegate, and maybe its causing a vac leak.
Or
2. I'm an idiot. And should have the EBC with its own line with nothing else T'd into it.
Closed loop settings for those interested....
19hz
Control pin: Boost
Output polarity: Normal
Control Interval :10
Closed Duty :0%
Open Duty :100%
Boost control CLT :170
Boost control lower limit :110
And I am trying to get P which doesn't matter if I set it to 200 or 100%.
(I was reading I needed to find P first. Then I, and hopefully not need an D)
I am still rooting for me just being an idiot. But Figured I have done some research and I cant be asking too stupid of a question with these answers for you guys.

After thinking about this more I think its actually that I have the vac lines backwards on the EBC.
I will confirm in about half an hour when I go on my last break at work.
Thank you for input anyways guys
Edit:
I fixed it. Vac signal line was backwards.

I don't think that is a good approach. The EBC is going to bleed manifold pressure and give false signal to MAP sensor due to flow causing pressure drop
I suggest: Run the EBC between compressor outlet fitting and waste gate. Run a dedicated line to MAP sensor. Run a third to cruise.
What I did was tee the cruise and blowoff from what used to be the evap emissions into the manifold. Then I took the MAP from the back of the manifold port that was the cruise.

Your absolutely right DNM.
I went home last night and Im running the MSM special IHI. I made a nipple on the charge piping right next to where I have my EBC mounted on the wheel well.
The car seems to spool faster now, which is nice and I got rid of a Compressor surge that I was having i assume because the wastegate was running off the plenum.
Anyways,
The next question I have is this.
After reading about how to Correctly Hook up the EBC. And run a dedicated MAP signal then another line to my Cruise control and Boost guage...
Now the battle is tuning for P, then I and hopefully no D.
Do I start P at 100 which would be what the wastegate is set to? Or do i Start at over 100 like they did with MS2 in the Thread we have.
Thanks for the input guys!
