Default Naturally Aspirated motor with a Megasquirt ECU

Hey guys, I was curious about how much of a power increase is possible with a Megasquirt paired with a wideband o2 and some rx-8 fuel injectors. Should I be expecting any extra power at all? My Miata is a 1.8

I wouldn't bother installing bigger injectors when you're staying NA. The stock injectors are big enough. Better spend the money on a more open catback / airfilter. Don't expect huge gains from only the Megasquirt though. I guesstimate a single digit number.

We've found a 3-5 hp gain from removing the MAF on the '94-'97 cars. You'd have thought a hot wire MAF would be less restriction than a vane air flow meter, but in this case, it wasn't.

I've seen +10hp and torques on my '94 with an MS2e, RB header, exhaust, and exintake swap.

It's peppy. But I cringe when I think about how much I paid for those ten ponies.

Peak gains won't be anything to write home about. Overall though, there's quite a decent improvement.

10-15 HP / TQ especially down low. Megasquirt N/A is totally worthwhile. Bigger injectors aren't until you want to run E-85 or start putting down big numbers.

I run NB injectors at 80 PSI and only 70% DC with about 150-160 WHP.

I am assuming this is MS and a dyno tune with the max spark advance befor knock on 94 or race gas?

He has a non-stock motor.

But gains on a stock motor are worthwhile. +10 hp/tq would be no problem

I know bigger injectors aren’t worth it. Better spray pattern, flow matched injectors seem like they theoretically should help some. Have any NA cars tried them?

Maybe if you can get a cheap set of NB injectors as mentionned above. Spending a few hundred on EV14s just for that; your money is better spent elsewhere. Even an Nb head or something like that

You will get more torque in all the rev range, so the car will feel a lot better, and be quicker, even though you won't gain any massive peak gains.
If you have an intake, some compression, and full exhaust with a decent manifold, you could see bigger gains.
Getting better/newer injectors will make your idle and cruising better.
