Mspnp gen1 compatibility issues with Traqdash
I have a 94-95 Miata that is running on a gen1 MSPNP. I installed a traqdash data acquisition system in the car to gather data to hopefully get faster. It records track laps and various other bits of info. One of the features of the traqdash is the rpm sweep and built in shift lights. Instruction say to hook up tach signal from the diagnostic connector IG-. The problem is the signal crumbles and goes dark above 3000rpm. No shift lights, no RPMs, nothing under acceleration. I have an option of getting the signal from the ecu. I'd like to use the 16 pin connector to run a tachout line to the Traqdash. I see the MS system has a tachout pin that is currently switched off. There's a warning to make sure the tachout pin isn't already in use. How do you find out if it's already in use?
