MS3X users - go to 1.1.1
I'm pretty happy with prebeta21 right now. It should be available after this weekend.
The new accel-pump is amazing.
I'm currently struggling with an odd grounding issue where my enrichments had to be completely retuned and my tpsDOT was very noisy and required a high threshold. Coming from alpha11, the filtering improvements coupled with the accel-pump have results in the best throttle response and smoothness to date. (consider that I've been on MsI starting in 2006, then MS2, and now MS3).
It's a hell of a lot easier to tune, and you can actually use decel-enrichments for once, since you tune on a curve. Which means I'm not going to 12-11:1 when i lift anymore, and it's still smooth and transparent. Where if I had anything less than 95% decel in the accel-wizard, the car would hesitate with throttle lifts.
The idle improvements (intial duty table, timing and voltage correction) have improved the idle quality significantly, better than the stock ECU was ever able to.
Here's the results of my idle after just maybe 10-20 minutes of fooling around, going straight off my alpha 11 map with guessed values.

What type of values are you seeing for your accel pump enrichments? I just started using it and it seems to work very well. A decel table will be awesome.
I hate you for getting prereleases!
My idle is amazing. I think the initial duty table was one of the biggest/best improvements for my idle.
I'm using beta20

ill have to look again, but like:
-400 -15%
-200 -10%
-50 0%
0 0%
15 7%
30 15%
100 23%
that's off the top of my head. Ken said to turn off the threshold completely (set to 0) and just use the curve itself as your threshold.
IIRC in beta20, the decel part of the code doesn't work.

he said the goal was for throttle response mainly. he said the wizard was on very old grippo code and caused issues; it wasn't able to ever react fast enough. the pump is all brand new code, and like i said, designed with throttle response in mind.

Hi Brain,
I just got done assembling my MS3 + MS3X. Will try to bench-test with the Stim tonight.
[rant]
Bench testing is all I can do, since my cylinder head is STILL in the machine shop. They supposedly do awesome work, and considering that after weeks they haven't even looked at it yet it better be f-ing perfect!
[/rant]
Anyway: I can't find Beta21. I assume you are referring to firmware for the MS3 - correct?
The only link I can find is here:
http://www.megasquirt-info.net/megas...re_updates.php
And the latest FW for the MS3 here is "MS3 pre-1.1 alpha 15" from November 2011.
In all probability I'm being daft again, but I can't find it...
A link would be appreciated!

Well you should be going to beta 24 now:
http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewto...?f=125&t=45420
b22 and b23 firmwares have small updates that have no bearing on our installs, this b24 firmware includes the ability to use the Idle VE or Idle Advance activation to PID idle activation...much better than the parameters needed prior.
LMK if you have any other MS3x questions.

Final version 1.1.0 has been released:
Megasquirt MSEXTRA / MS3EFI • MS3 1.1.0 released (View topic)
It is apparently already updated to 1.1.1 (bugfix release)
Congrats to the MS team!
