Default MS3X No Start 1993 - Help a Noob Plz

Hello All,

After spending some quality time with the Miata today, I was able to install my new MS3x, MTX-L Wideband, TPS201 mod, and GM IAT sensor

The car is a 1993 and has..

Stock Injectors
Stock Spark
Stock Fuel Pump
Racing beat manifold and exhaust
High Flow Cat

I followed this guide to a "T"

At the point where it says to start the car and allow to idle, I'm stuck. The car cranks and will not start.

I'm not going to lie, I have no idea what 99% of the settings in Tunerstudio mean.

If someone has a Tune that meets my specs and works in their car, can you post it and I can give it a try to see if she starts.

Or can someone check out my Tune to see if it’s completely jacked up.

Notes:
MS3x Built by Braineack
I unplugged the 10A St_Sign fuse
I don't hear a fuel pump prime when turning the key on
Car runs perfect with stock ECU installed

Update:

Jumped F/P to GND in the diagnostics box and the fuel pump runs, but still no start. Although it was cranking slowly due to tired battery.

I'm going to get to sleep for tonight and start fresh in the morning. Going to try a fresh copy of TunerStudio and new tune file. I probably screwed stuff up when looking through all the settings of my current tune.

Did you load a different tune on the MS than what was loaded? the MS should have been able to run by just running a vacuum line to it and jumping the fuel pump to run correctly.

To be fair I did send you the wrong instruction sheet, I'll send you the correct one for a MS3x (doesnt change much, but the fuel pump is handled differently), not DIYPNP, but that msq you uploaded doesnt look correct--especially since you have rising edge instead of falling--itll never start that way.

Make sure you disconnect your stock TPS sensor if you did not replace it with a variable one, from the way the instructions are written it sounds like it just wont use the signal, but it stops it from functioning actually if it is still connected

I am getting a rpm reading.

I had tried to start the car after following the directions (but the fuel pump was not jumped). So I started messing with tunerstudio. I would change stuff and then change it back.. but I'm sure I messed some settings up.

Did you have a base tune I can load up with the correct settings?

yes, ill have to resend the loaded map to you to try first (later this afternoon when im home), then we can start diagnosing the no start from there.

Ok,

I followed the correct instructions
"MS3x_Megasquirt_Installation_Instructions_5-26-2012"

installed the new beta tunerstudio and changed the settings to what I saw in the install guide.

Car now starts and idles but acts like it is missing on two cylinders. (The correct tune will probably solve this)

Yay..

Car starts and idles well.

Timing holds solid at 10* with a latency of 80 (does that sound to high)

Another issue though... My wideband reading on my laptop is staying locked at 7.10 (.23 - 7.35 , 5-22.39)
But my wideband gauge reads 12.3- 13.5 at idle depending on electric load (idle drop)

Is my edu not getting the signal? I hooked up the purple wire to my analog 1 out on my mtx-l gauge

you probably need to program tunerstudio to tell it which wideband sensor you have, they all use different electrical values.

we are going to confirm the correct pinout on the center connector and see if I didnt tell him the wrong one of something.

Pinout was different than the provided drawing to complete my connector...

All inputs working now.

Car starts and idles now... just doesnt like to have the throttle let off and has little power..

the tuning fun begins..
