Default ms3 basic crank, no spark no rpm signal vvt motor into 94-97

Hi I'm trying to get the car started. I'm a newbie when it comes to MS3.

It's a 01 vvt swap into 95 miata. It's na and no boost.

The car cranks but tunerstudio reads 0 rpm when cranking. Adjusted CPS sensor to spec and checked spark plugs.

I have checked all of the wirings and ignition setting on tunerstudio is set to 99-05 miata.

Would like to get it started tonight but am struggling through this. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using a base map from Dimitris for MS3 basic right now.

Make sure that "Ignition input capture" is set to "Rising Edge" when using 99-05 Miata.

I just noticed that the tach inside the car isn't moving while cranking.

Does it say MS3 or MS2 on the box? The serial number you gave me is for an MS2.

We are able to get a cam signal now. The wire for the cam sensor was mixed. We got spark but the car still won't start.

It's back firing a lot. Here's an updated composite log and base map (again). With the original base map cranking parameter, the spark plugs were soaked in fuel and we are thinking that it's too rich. We lowered the values by half. Please note that it's 7 degrees celcius on the iat.

There are still some error codes that I don't understand (refer to screenshot). I'm starting to think that my cam timing is off. I tried unplugging the vvt to start the car but it didn't make a difference.

The crank/cam phasing on that engine is wrong. The cam signal overlaps the crank signal. This suggests that either the timing belt timing is wrong or that the crank timing wheel is off.
