Default MS3 Basic Basemap Issues

I just bought an MS3 Basic from Bofi Racing. The serial # is 30241. I sent a PM to Reverant about the questions I had below:

I think I might have the wrong basemap loaded onto my ECU because the injector size and dead times are different from any other 90-93 basemap I have seen, and it was setup for fully sequential injection even though I have a 1990 and it isn't wired up that way. It eventually started up after playing with a couple settings but I may have messed up and lost the original basemap because I am a massive noob. I was hoping to have it as a reference but I couldn't find it under the restore points menu.

Also I was comparing some of the settings from the 90-93 MS3x basemap on trubokitty.com and there are a lot of big differences between the two, especially the spark map.

Really the only problem I am having right now is that it struggles to start when the motor is warmed up. There is a dip in the idle after the motor catches and it almost stalls out. I changed the cranking duty cycle and after start enrichments but it doesn't look like it is helping. I've attached a short log of the warm start and my tune. Other than that the car is running fine, but I am just wondering why there is a big difference compared to the trubokitty basemap.

Here is my set-up:
1990 1.6L Miata
Stock internals
Stock intake and exhaust (AFM still bolted in but disconnected)
GM IAT Sensor (sitting inside airbox)
AEM UEGO 30-0300
BMW TPS

Thank you!

I was able to fix the warm startup issues by changing the crank-to-run taper time from 2 seconds to 5 seconds. And I also decreased the afterstart enrichment until I was running about 13.5 AFR, and then slowly taper back to 14.7 as it goes to 850RPM idle. Am I doing this right?

The only question that remains is if I should change my injector size, deadtimes, and spark map to match the basemaps on trubokitty? I was under the impression that Reverant makes his basemaps specifically for his ECU, but it is much different from what I see other people running.

Reverant Basemap:
Injector size: 190cc
Deadtime: 0.900ms

Trubokitty Basemap:
Injector size: 230cc
Deadtime: 1.200ms

I don't think they have 190cc injectors on the 1.6. But I don't 1.6.

You didn't buy it directly from Reverent so there's no telling what you actually bought. I wouldn't assume it was correct.

Trubokitty msq won't work for units built by Reverent but you can copy SOME of the settings, or better yet, email Reverent directly with your unit number and the details of your car. He can help sort it out. That's the way to get it right.

Hi There,

1.6s are indeed 190cc injectors.

Have you made sure to set the base timing with a light?

Drop us a line on the FB page at BOFI and we'll help out where we can. These are indeed MS Labs through and through and it certainly sounds like the correct basemap.
