MS "pop" Fix and blew a coil
I just did the MS hack to wire in the transistors and invert the spark so my car would stop popping on startup but now I'm running on 1 coil. It blew 1 and 4 almost immediately.
I installed the unit, unplugged the coils, burned the unit to invert the spark output, plugged the coils back in, and it started on 2 cylinders.
I've double checked my wiring and everything seems ok. Also, the fact that the car does run on those two cylinders would seem to indicate that it's setup correctly.
Anything else I should check before I throw in a new coil and risk blowing it?

Ok, well I just realized that I can't risk buying more coils and popping them as well. If someone can please send me a pic or diagram of the back of the 96/97 board so I know exactly where the jumpers go I would really appreciate it.
I even got my brother who does this stuff for a living and he agreed that it's wired exactly as the directions say, so who knows. Now I just want to get it back together and go back to dealing with the popping.

1/4 is on spark B, which is pad 3.
You can test the output of your circuit with a multimeter. It should have 0V with the MegaSquirt powered up and engine not running. It sounds like you may have a short in your circuit which holds the output high and charges the coil until the coil fails.
