Mounting MS3PnP in 2001 Miata
I love the Singular Motorsport mounting bracket for after market ECU's. No amount of struggle and zip ties and tape could secure my MS3PnP under the dash of my 2001 Miata.
But what a massive struggle to install, even humiliating when I compared the over 2 hours it took me the first time compared to the notes that came with it saying it was a quick and easy job! Several years later I found an easier way, out of necessity after installing a roll cage.
Once the roll cage was installed and the wiring harness was moved around with all the race car mods, it became impossible for me to even find the upper stud that the Singular bracket is supposed to hook on to, and no way I was going to get my fingers on the nut up there. Not to mention the struggle of hanging out on my back with roll cage and race seat in the way.
But it turns out there is a much easier way. Remove the instrument cluster, peer around with a flashlight, and voila, there is the frustrating stud with ground lines bolted on. Oh ... the hours I won't get back, but then again, won't waste in the future.
It still required lots of wobble extensions to get in there, but it was possible. Would be easier in a car without roll cage.
