Default Miata 1.6 turbo base maps turbokitty vs MSPNP

I have a 1990 1.6 Miata that I bought with a cxracing turbo running 8 psi. The car is currently on the MSPNP 90-93 basemap and has been ran on that for a while. I looked at the turbokitty base map for 1.6 miatas
and noticed that in most areas under boost it has an extra 6 degrees of timing than the mspnp map. Can i safely run the turbokitty base map? I currently don't have access to a dyno or knock detection.

Turbokitty

MSPNP

id subtract 3-4degrees from the whole kitty table make sure your mechanical timing is good. good luck

I ran the TruboKitty 94-95 map no problem on my car N/A for a bit, but you’re on the knife’s edge with knock once you get into boost. Pulling a few degrees out of the boosted cells would be prudent, especially if you happen to only have access to 91 octane and not 93.

I ran the trubokitty basemap on my bp4w for a while, no changes to the timing table, but kept boost relatively low around 10psi. Then I had vlad look it over for a remote tune and he told me I was way too advanced, and he pulled some timing.

Then I got the car dyno tuned (years later), and the tuner again told me I was too advanced and pulled more timing while we tuned the car for MBT.

Long story short, be careful with that timing map and listen to the guys above.

My motor came out completely fine though, I never heard knock/det, but I do live at 7,000+ft elevation which is actually a detonation suppressive of it's own.

I've been on the trubokitty basemap for almost 6 years now. 93 octane; 1.6 for half that time, VVT the rest. Not many dyno tuners nearby and i learned to tune driveability myself (thanks to mtnet)
His VVT map is even spicier and im not sure why.

I took ~3° out in boost (& .5° by trigger) and adjusted some 1300-2300 & cruise cells but engine no go kablooie.
I shove an inspection camera in every time i do a compression test with no significant evidence of knock but YMMV, especially as mentioned with 91.

im at 700ft elevation so it seems I’ll stick with the current mspnp map
