Megasquirt Installation questions
Ok so I have a 95 miata that I am doing a vvt swap in using stock VVT coils and a 94-95 megasquirt PNP PRO. I recently watched Greg Peter’s video on installing megasquirt and he’s made some changes due to his 1.6 harness and LS2 coils which Includes sequential fuel injection, tach signal, and variable TPS. I have a 1.8 harness and am using stock vvt ignition, so I’m wondering if I need to do any of these changes. Doesn’t the 95 harness with the use of the stock VVT ignition already come equipped with sequential injection, variable TPS, and a tack signal? If so, am I ready to literally just “plug and play”?

obd2 95 will have all of that. Early ‘95 will have 4 wire coils, and will require a tach signal, however it should be just a software change, or at most a simple wiring change at the ecu. All 1.8s have VTPS and sequential injection.

I’m just new to all of this. Thanks for the reply, just a few questions. Are you referring to the ignition wires? If that’s the case what is the difference between early wiring up of the vvt coils vs the later obd2 1995s. Is this a change in the harness because I was under the assumption that all 94-97 harnesses require the same wiring up of the VVT coils. And also the MS3 PNP Pro for 95s are all the same.
