Default Megasquirt DIYPNP issues (2001)

I assembled the 122 pin diypnp megasquirt kit and was able to load the firmware onto it. However the only signal I get from it is the throttle sensor, this works fine. While cranking, none of the other sensors seem to function.

I'm not sure if I wired the crank sensor correctly, It's wired into the Opto - port.
Obviously the engine won't fire since it isn't functioning...Unless im wrong in believing it's a hall sensor? Also a little skeptical about if the 5v right next to vref is used?

I have my notes for the jumpers I made. As well as the link for the pin out from which I made the jumpers from.

The crank sensor should be wired to Opto In - and you should wire Opto In + to a 5 volt pull up.

I installed the pull ups for the ckp and cmp, it now registers the engine speed, pulse width and a few others. Is there also one needed for IAC? Also, im not sure how the map sensor is hooked to the ecu. Do I use the included one on the board? Are any jumpers or pull ups needed for it? The pinout I used didn't mention the map sensor.

a diode goes across r5.

so you're not inputting a/c or clutch?

I'l be working out the ac later. And by clutch do you mean the pressure switch? I was just gona have it start in neutral I suppose.

I have a log of when I just started the engine...It was running super rich and idled poorly, made some small pops when revving too. I guess just pm me soo I can attach it?

I tried setting the timing so I rev'd it to about 850 or 900 and with an inductive timing light and it seemed to go off of more than the number 1 wire. I tried this with the stock ecu and timing and the mark seems to be at about 12 at idle and goes higher when I rev it. Also im concerned about variable timing...Will the engine not perform good at all without vvt tuner? Or just not have as much low grunt.

sorry for the double post
