Hi All
Running MS2 enhanced in an Exocet with turbo conversion (NB 1,8 1999 just installed Toyota cops and set up in tuner studio and all working great, 20 mins into driving and the voltage from the alternator goes up and spikes at 19+v, Shut the car off and re start and everything is back to normal again? Charging fine
Swapped out alternators, same issue, all earths checked, re installed standard coil packs and leads and everything runs fine so definitely something to do with the cops install, all settings in the MS have been checked and re checked and all good.
I have not used any capacitors on the harness for the cops is the only thing that i can think of. Any help would be much appreciated.
Blessed are the informed !!

If your set up is comparable with the MSPNP2 for 99-00 Miata, the voltage regulator is done by the ECU, not in the alternator. My new MS (last fall) had a chip failure (U1?) that required replacement by DIYAutotune, under warranty. I was getting voltage up to 21vdc, which does bad things to things like light filaments and the radio.
