Knock Sensor Help Request

Knock Sensor Help Request
I want to know that my knock sensor is working and can log knock before I start tuning.
Are there settings in TunerStudio that need to be set in order read KnockIn?
How can I reliably test that the sensor is working? (Does the engine need to be running? Will revving be enough to see KnockIn Input? Does the sensor only understand specific frequencies [so hitting the sensor or engine block might not simulate knock]?)
Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

I haven't seen the knock input numbers change from zero, so that's the main issue at the moment.

Currently my knock sensor setting "Knock Control" is set to Disabled. (IDK if that just disables knock control or knock detection too)

I finally got my knock sensor to register in Tuner Studio.
Big thanks to this thread for including a screenshot which helped me figure out my issue

I have a 1999 Miata with a MS3 PNP and stock knock sensor.
Ultimately, my issue was that I needed to have the Ignition => Knock Sensor Setting "Input Type" set to "Internal".
This has a prerequisite of your "Knock Control" setting being set to "Safe Mode" or "Aggressive Mode".
Also, I should note that I believe the engine needs to be running in order for it to register in TS. Hitting the sensor or block did not appear to register for me.
Here is a screenshot of the necessary knock setting.
