the NB 1.6 VVT from Japan and or Europe. when putting into a NA6 chassis. I don't believe you get them often in the USA . But I have read treads occasionaly where someones picked up one of those engines
when you retro fit the CAS the cams don't fit. They are too short. Just like with the OP.
In Australia they send the cams away to be welded & some other stuff done to it.
I believe they cut the end piece off an old B6 motor cam and attach it to the new cam wich is attached to the CAS.
I beleiev this would be a very good alternative solution......maybe

and why would you ever want to work backwards and fit an older/much worse trigger setup onto a more modern car?

Here's the adapter i just finnished for Drezi. there are a few marks on it from installing/uninstalling to make sure the fit is just right. i over sized the center of the adapter so it needs to be tapped gently into the cam with a hammer. final assembly should be done using bearing race locktite as an extra safety precaution
