Borgwarner 'stock' BSCV EBC - Boost Controller
At the advice of a local tuner, I'm switching out my MAC boost controller for a stock borgwarner one. I have an EFR 6258 that i bought used and it didn't come with it. I'm hoping someone will assist with their experience in getting one installed. It appears to have the same inlet/outlet/dump configuration as the mac valve, but I can't find any instructions on it. I have an external dual port waste gate, so I'm guessing I can just do the same thing I did before and T the inlet side and run the external side to the same port on the wastegate the MAC valve went. Any advice to confirm would be appreciated.
As for anyone's experience in tuning with them, that would be awesome as well. The issues I had with the MAC was that I would regularly hit boost cut if the car wasn't extremely warm and then once extremely warm, I would hit my boost that I would want to hit, and then as the car got more heat soaked, I would come up short of boost targets. The diyautotune page is explicit it needs to remain below 120F which I found impossible when keeping the MAC in the engine bay. I relocated it to the gap behind the firewall. This seemed to help for a bit but I'm having issues once again. The operating range on the one from EFR says up to 130C so I'm really hoping for it to be much more consistent!

I ended up connecting this as if it was a single port internal wastegate and it worked well. I messed with the dual port and didn't get it working though after I got it working as a single port connection style I realized that on the mac valve you swap the hose from the inlet port to the vent port and I didn't try that yet, my guess is that would make the EFR boost controller solenoid work with a dual port.
