All of the sudden, failed start
#41
The crank sensor wasn't as tight as it could be. I could move it with little effort and this o lyrics started happening after I took it to MachV to do the timing job since I couldn't break the crank bolt loose. I don't even know why I physically touched the sensor, it just looked too close to the teeth. So I pushed it away a bit.
What stumps me is why it wouldn't read when too close, or rather, why the cam signal wouldn't read either.
I tested it too close, it won't start, pushed it away and it starts and idles strong. It's probably two credit cards distance now and I snuggled it down.

Also it doesn't hurt to take out your cam sensor and clean that too.

Solved !
The car stranded me again today. New crank sensor , still no start . I was able to get my lap top on it this time , did a trigger test , flat line hmmm . I then noticed the battery voltage was sitting just around 11 volts and dropping below 10 volt while cranking. I don't know about the Mega Squirt but the Hydra won't fire the coils if the voltage is less than 10 volts. Quick jump and I was running again Guess I'm going battery shopping. Fredb
