94NA - Engine fire & shorted wiring harness - Best way to salvage the megasquirt?
Car had an engine fire in 2020 and burned up some of the harness. I know some things got shorted (for example the car was cranking over with the key out until I disconnected the battery.) A couple things melted, but apart from the wiring harness it wasn't that bad. At the time I was still in school though and ended up selling it a year later. Fast forward 3 years and I see it up for sale and buy it back. The guy ended swapping a 95 miata into my chassis. Engine, transmission, wiring, ecu, etc. is all stock 95 miata now, with the exception of my dashboard and suspension.
I got the old MSLabs MS3 mini that I was running in the car which is what I am interested in salvaging. I haven't taken it apart yet but at a glance the board looks okay. I can add photos later of the board and everything. I'd rather not get a JimStim from DIYautotune and painstakingly wire everything up and test each input/output. Is there any risk to plugging it into the car loading a basemap and starting it?
