1.6 diypnp no spark
I had a guy build me a diypnp ecu. Everything is communicating with the ecu except that im getting no spark. When I tested the coils in Turner Studio thier was nothing until I got to coil D. Testing coil D wasn't producing any spark but it was turning the cooling fan on. Does that mean that thier is a wiring issue in the ecu itself? Going to look at it more when I get off work but any help to how the board should be wired for the factory coil pack would be very appreciated!

next time have someone that knows what they are doing build you a diypnp.
you only have two coils, so i dunno why you are testing coil D.
sounds like you have the cooling fan on ALD which is why it turned on the fan when testing. I'm going to assuming he loaded regular ms2 firmware and not microsquirt firmware...

Yea... I checked the pin-outs from a thread that I believe was the 91 miata no spark. It looks like all my pin-outs are in the correct spots from what thst thread shows. Could it be the firmware? I read somewhere where you might have to download the microsquirt firmware because it uses the correct pin-outs?

its all the same firmware but theres a setting when you flash.
on the ingition settings page, what does it say the ignition output is set to? I cant see the msq here at work (or screen capture)

Well changed the setting to wasted spark and still got nothing. Also unplugged the coils and changed it to going low and tested the volts and was getting 5v on both. So I figured maybe my coil pack was bad so replaced that with one out of LKQ and still nothing. The one from LKQ could be bad as well but, idk.

thanks for the input guys. The ignitor was bad, put a new one the car and it fired right up. After I got the base timing for the car and got the idle to run smooth I tried a short little rev and it wants to loss rpms fast and sputter. I did put a vtps from bmw on it can its communicating with the dyipnp perfect. I will post my current MSQ file for you guys that want to help, fill free to look at it! any input will be very helpful.
Thanks
