Where do I put the diesel in my Miata?
Hopefully got your attention and you didn't spit whatever you were drinking.
Older guy by today standards. Been around cars, bikes and every weekend on my push lawn mower for a long time. I guess i'm on that category of the 45 (or older) who still thinks I'm cool (do we still say cool or should I say rad?)
Anyways, originally from NYC but for the past 12 years in Connecticut.
Have been lurking the Miata's various forum looking for overall information ever since I decided that I no longer wanted to kick my leg over my Yamaha R6; tired of wringing the wrist full lock running around clocking ludicrous speeds on a daily basis, seeking that adrenaline fix. I saw many of my close friends go down, and some never got back up. So, in April 2016 I finally sadly let go and sold my R6. Shortly after I picked up a silver 2002 SE in an effort to still have fun and slow my pace. But sheesh! I didn't want to slow down THAT much! So I have been checking the forums hoping for a cure for the common slug.
At the beginning i swore it was going to be a matter of somewhat restoring a pretty much stock car, to a reliable weekend cruiser, but that plan changed pretty quickly. Within roughly three weeks of owning this thing I reconsidered my plan and deemed I/H/E absolutely a must. Ok, scratch that too! I needs me more speed and wooshhhy cool sounds; I mean, there's this kid around my neighborhood with a boosted Teggy that seemingly purposely blows his BOV every time he sees my garage door open. errr... I promise you, I'm not trying to get back at him. Don't judge ME!!!!
What was I saying? Oh yeah... I've been through a lot; from American Muscle: 1986 Mustang I4, 1989 Mustang 5.0, 198X Mercury Cougar xr7 to Japanese goodies: 1984 Nissan 300ZX, 1988 Civic, 2002 Nissan Sentra SpecV (see my handle?)
grew up drooling over my uncle's Datsun 120 Y and my neighbor's 197X Mustang Mach 1; and I'm ready to take this Miata from 0 to 60 a little faster than my 2 year old grand son on his "Cars" themed bicycle.
Sooo... Hey!
