Ultimate Noob 1st Post!!!

Ah what? Why did I get negative props and had my two posts combined?
I was under the impression, and correct me if I'm wrong, that this thread was to throw humor at a lot of "noob" posts? I felt that my two separate posts accomplished just that. [usually a ridiculous comment, hence the stickers = hp post, then usually followed by a bump shortly after]

I see. So no real reason directly correlated to my post and or rules; just an arbitrary feeling in true relativistic fashion?
Is this common culture in this forum or just specific to this thread?
(just in case, I don't mean any hostility in this post, just trying to get a feel for common culture of the forum. Since, tone and all cannot be heard just by reading and could potentially lead to misunderstandings, figured I should clarify)

It is common for noobs to make useless posts to get over the 10 or 15 post minimum limits for utilizing certain forum functions. As moderators or admins on the site we tend to watch for people with under 15 posts making posts in rapid succession for that reason. I combined your posts to shortchange your post count by one and then watched to see if any "junk" posts followed closely afterward. They didn't and I moved on. We have a bad problem with junk posts for people who want to use the forum but not contribute to or really become active in the forum. It's a real PITA.
What makes it worse is most of the posts in this thread are from noobs who haven't actually read or understood the purpose of the thread, so I was a bit more likely to watch you after you posted here. Nothing personal. And I did not negative prop you. That was someone else. But I did reverse it.
Sometimes if we don't know you well, we don't know if you get the joke or you are the joke.

I have followed this thread since joining here a few months ago. I may be a noob here but I am not a noob to car forums or many of the subjects on these forums. I am also proud to be a contributing member of several car communities that are welcoming, helpful and all around cool.
This thread may have started out light heartedly and had a purpose but now it is in poor taste and does not foster the sense of a welcoming community. It actually turned me away from coming here more often.
Let's consider replacing it with a traditional introduce yourself thread. Only in this spirit will miataturbo.net and this community reach it's full potential.

trying to get in my initial posts so I can do some business. I understand why system managers want you to do this.. It immerses the person into the web s ite and causes you to pay attention to whats going on.....
Trying to compare a m45 sebring sc to a m62 system. I thought that an m62 kit was for a 99 or above, the m45 for the 1.8 94-97

No, we do this so it can be clear that you actually have something to offer to the community and not just be a suckhole that spams their way to the requisite posts in order to post your **** for sale.
... in the most hilariously incorrect place to spam those posts on the entire forum.
Good job!
