Stanced JDM Eunos build - reddy 4 dat 4psi Greddy madness!
Haha, just messing with you guys!
My name is Dustin, I'm an engineering student from Arlington, TX.
I have been viewing this site almost daily for a couple years, I figured its time to make a profile and come out of the shadows!
My car is a 2004 LS Emerald Mica, I'll post pics of the car and my cat when I get home later tonight. Nothing special to see though, the car is very stock. My only mods to it have been some Mazda Competition motor mounts, energy suspension differential bushings, FM sways (from my previous miata), and thats about it.
I previously had a 2000 Miata SE that was in really good condition, but it was totaled 2 days before my wedding last year. Some old lady driving a new Malibu was in a rush to her 71st birthday(no joke), and decided YIELD always means "GO!!! At all costs floor it and smash the **** out of everything in the way!". My car spun around 2 full times(hit me in the driver door and quarter panel), flew into a large ditch, and almost flipped over. That was very scary, I didn't have a rollbar and I have seen pictures of what happens when a Miata flips. I had just put FM frame rails, butterfly brace, 2005 Sport brakes on the rear, a wilwood prop valve, and a bunch of other small upgrades in the car about a month earlier too. I went on the honeymoon for a week, came back to continue engineering school, and bought this miata the next weekend.
For hobbies, I don't really have any other than tinkering with small things on the car, and drinking many different craft brews. I used to rock climb alot, but not so much anymore.
I work at an aerospace company as an intern, and my wife is a school teacher at a charter school, aka my car budget is very small!
I have never driven on track or autocross, so I have no experience there.
I have no fabrication skills, but I want to learn to TIG aluminum sometime soon. I always have a lot of ideas, but all of them require fabrication skills I don't have
When it comes to plans for the car, I don't know what the end goal is, probably something extremely fun on the street, and able to handle track duties.
I know I want an EFR series turbo, ARTech manifold, and XIDA coilovers

I'd like to meet you (no, not like that you pervert).
What's your major at UTA? My company (as in MY company) is always looking for engineers.
I'll be test driving my red car at MSR-C sometime this weekend. No 71 yo ladies there, although there is a 70+ guy in a black 911 that doesn't give point-bys to Miatas. But he's an awfully nice guy, so you can't get mad (I did, then I met him and felt like a ********). Wanna' tag along? PM.

I would PM you, but I believe I must have a certain number of posts, which I do not have yet. Going to the track would be awesome though, I have always wanted to see what it is like. Can you PM me, even though I cannot PM you? I'm definately interested in your company.

With you guys responding in TX, maybe one day I can take a ride in a turbo miata that is actually fast...
The only encounters I have had with turbo miatas are both test drives of cars I was going to buy.
I test drove a MSM with some FM goodies and thought "This isn't that fast", when I told the owner, he said it was quite a bit faster than stock. So I decided no for the price point.
The other time was a SUPPOSEDLY 300HP miata with some Begi kit running a 2860, which had a terrible tune(I saw the AFR drop below 10 multiple times, and rise to 15 at other times throughout the rev range at WOT), and didn't make real power until 6000 RPMs. I know for sure it was not 300HP.
300HP in a miata is supposed to scare the living **** out of me, correct?
Anyone near Arlington TX wanna scare the crap out of me with their turbo Miata? I'm down as long as docking is kept to a minimum.
