I'm new here too and from El Paso also. My mom drives a 92 Miata that shes gonna let my have whenever it is that she gets a new car. My cars a 1998 Eclipse GST Spyder. When i get the Miata its going to be my DD so i can park my Eclipse and start throwing money at it and building it. I really dont know much about miatas so i thought join a forum to learn more. I joined MT because when i get a bigger turbo for my Eclipse i might want to slap the old T-25 on the Miata (if i dont blow it)cause WOW theyre slow but still a blast to drive! Other plans for the Miata for sure before the turbo are 15x8 tires 0 offset rims not sure on what type yet, coilovers, slam it, exhaust, roll and pull fenders, front lip and hardtop. So yes my plans are to have slammed more form over function.im excited to start building the Miata just not sure when it will be, for now i just want to learn more about them and the best parts for them

This tends to be a function oriented forum full of weekend racers, theoretical racers (bench racers), and aspiring track gods. They tend to look down on modifications that make a car slower and handle or brake worse. Your 0 offset 15x8s will make your car slower and handle and brake worse. Slamming your car will make it slower and handle and brake worse. Cheap coilovers will make it handle and brake worse. And unless it is turbocharged, an exhaust will just make it slow and loud instead of just slow. That is why the fellow with track experience called you an asshat. Don't take it too personally. If you stick around and read a lot you can learn how to make your car better than stock and look sharp if you chose.

3. They aren't worth **** when you try to sell it beat to ****. Keep it as a DD, and pour money into the miata.
4. They are slow, I beat a guy with 8psi on the 1.6 from a 40 roll, he claimed 300 fwhp and he had a bigass wing and bodykit (worth 50hp).

1. That is why I'm doing an AWD swap from a GSX or just buy a GSX or front LSD
2. You pretty much just called your Miata gay too
3. No plans on selling it and will be pouring money into the Miata also
4. I am pretty sure you raced a GS or RS with the weak 420a engine not a GST or GSX with a 4G63 turbocharged engine
So to end that discussion, do you have stock internals on your Miata with the turbo? Would it be safe to keep internals stock for awhile while boosting? Sounds like you have the same platform I'm going for.
