I am working on a project car - an Aston Martin DBR-1 tribute - based on a 1992 Miata skate.
So much of the donor car's wiring harness was superfluous I decided to wire the car from scratch and use a Microsquirt ECU.
Until now I've gotten a lot of good info from the miata.net forum but they don't seem to be much into aftermarket ECUs.
I should have known because a lot of times I've googled something related and found links to here.
Started asking ECU questions over there and someone with the username Stoffl suggested I should try here.
Looking forward to getting to know the gang here - and getting some help - because I am definitely an analog guy and the amount I don't know about ECUs is pretty vast.
Misleading - just had the body on to make a few measurements. Looks more like a big go-kart now. No, not real Smiths gauges. Just regular Miata gauges, rearranged, with new faces.
Welcome to the forum! Have a cat for doing something different and interesting!
Yeah, there is lots of info on here, certainly ecus but much much more! Use the search function for specific queries, and supplement that by reading build threads because there is lots of arcane stuff that people discuss there. And as you have probably sussed out already, we do lots more than just turbo stuff here too.
Suggest you start a build thread, I suspect like me, there will be lots of people interested in following your progress!
Welcome to the forum. There's a few other members here in the Indy area. Good luck with the cool build.
You made me realize I don't have any recent pictures of the whole car with the body off.
Here are some bits and pieces, some newer and some older.
Thanks for asking. Everyone loves a chance to show off pictures of their baby!
chassis with body in the rafters partway through wiring the engine bay - this is all done now trunk (boot), fuel tank, battery installation just after installing the seats suspension detail
This is really, really cool. Subbed for updates, keep us posted!
Music to my ears!
I will post updates here as they come along.
I may be disappointing because at this time I have not plans for forced induction (could change).

While forced induction would make this thing hilarious/awesome, a lightened miata is also a hoot, this is basically a exocet/catfish with a beautiful retro body on it. I personally think it will be plenty awesome without F/I, and who knows, if you get bored one day maybe you'll join the rest of us lunatics on the dark side.
