Noob from Northern VA...
Hey guys, name's Greg. It's a pleasure to be in a Miata again. I'm 23 years old and used to drive a spec miata on the street (minus the cage -> just had a rollbar) when i was 18-19...
Then I had a few turbo cars, my last machine was a drift built s13 240sx coupe with an sr20det pushing a nice 306 whp and 303 wtq.
Now I acquired a bone stock 1990 base model Miata and I couldn't be happier (except that it's a really slow car stock)
BUT the goals are to build a drift car that I'm gonna keep for a LONG time...going to aim for 220-250 rwhp and 200-230 rwtq which is pretty reasonable.
I've already done tons of research on the drivetrain, going to source out some NB axles (since I want the 1 piece) and a 1.8 driveshaft, and I already have a 1.8 diff I'm gonna weld up.
I'm also going to use a Begi-s setup most likely with my own fuel upgrades and IC kit.
May go as far as making my own steering knuckles for more angle BUT I MAY just run Level7tune knuckles and am still going thru if I want to run SM suspension or not, but most likely, I'm going to piece the suspension together myself instead.
As good as these plans sound, I'm still going to take my time with them since the car is my DD this year and I don't wanna turbo a DD (that I drive 60 miles a day with) so the estimated turboing completion date is sometime spring-ish in 2011 hopefully...
Anyway, it's great to be on here, I want to learn tons about these cars and hopefully after a while I can contribute with some goods myself too...
(A few NoVA locals on here may know my unofficial brother, Brian with a Glossy Orange NA IRTB'd with MSpnp and white Mini wheels slammed)

Hello Greg,
Where in NoVA are you? Do you know who rappadan is? He used to be have a boosted 1.6 that he drifted. If you are interested in pursuing the Miata for drifting he would be who you need to talk to.

Miatacross I hear there is going to be a great meet Saturday morning with some welding of an exhaust, you should stop by and you can probably get a ride or two in some of the boosted miatas.
