Noob from Chicago

Noob from Chicago
'94 with a little aftermarket, none of which I had anything to do with installing:
KYB shocks
cold air intake
MP3 audio input
roll bar
Owned for only a couple weeks now, that's a picture right after I got it. I haven't done anything more than an oil change to it. First plans are to patch up the zipper on the soft top to at least open it up for summer (which apparently will come to Chicago this year), and from there start really evaluating what I want. The car is in great working order, little bit of that idle droop I've read about but no other issues.
Now about me? I'm Gus, I'm 23, I live on Chicago's south side and I am extremely excited about the adventures I'm going to have with this car. I'm brand new to the Miata community, so you wont hear much from me on the forums after this thread for a while. I have much learning to do.
So go ahead, bring it on with the hazing ladies.

As for the out-of-the-gate modding (re: supercooper), I've never actually owned a car like this before. The RWD is taking some getting used to and it'd been two years since I've driven standard, I guess I'm just taking it slow figuring out my relationship with the car then going from there. This is kind of a dream of mine to own a two-seater, I'm relishing its coming to fruition for the time being.

hell yeah man... good to hear... They handle like no other... the RWD is different, but loads of fun. the miata is one of the best handling (stock) platforms out there. just do some looking around on here, and some research, and if and when you decide to build it up, you will be on the right path!

It's amazing how different the response is between a noob coming here and asking "how much boost can I run?" vs. a noob coming here, posting a poorly lit cell-phone camera picture of his car and saying "I would like to fix the zipper".
It's even more amazing when you consider the subject...nay, the very title...of this forum.

Welcome, you should come out to one of the WCMC autox events Autocross Main Page , there's one next week. It will help you get a feel for the car and how it responds.
