Well hello there. Getting rid of it already, huh? Keep your eyes open here. There's always setups popping up for sale or you may find a manifold and downpipe that flows better to work with that turbo.

Im torn between keeping it and get a new mani and dp or starting all over. That and wondering how long a stock clutch and diff will last @ about 12psi. But other than that doing good, yourself?

lordrigamus 12-29-2010 02:38 PM

Not to shabby. Waiting for the weather to break a little so I can work on the car.

Are you really Tony the Tiger?

Tony the Tiger 12-30-2010 11:46 AM

Yeah I sneak up on little kids and scare them with yelling they're grrreat and handing them a box of frosted flakes. But that've just my part time job. ( whatever helps pay the bills) ha!

Tony the Tiger 12-30-2010 11:49 AM

Any luck with selling those parts jtothawhat?

My car now sits on jack stands in my garage. With no radiator, ac unit, powersteering system and no ecu. This is a scary site indeed. But I have 1 question. Is it worth it to replace the head gasket before a turbo build? If so I'll buy the fm gasket package and rip the head off and clean the valves and lifters. Also at that time would it be easier to do a clutch and flywheel? I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place with this one. Any help greatly appreciated even if it is a sucker punch at this point anything will help.

Illinois love!!!

Whats the mileage/condition of the motor again? I wouldn't redo the headgasket unless its having problems. But I like cheaper options.

150k and took apart Car before I found out about doing a compression test( I know no brains, all i was thinking was go fast) but I never had any issues with the car, and had no issues with it being supercharged. Sooo?

With your current power goals, you might be ok on that head gasket for a while but who's to say for how long. It may last for 1000 miles or 100,000 miles. Since it's half apart now, you may want to consider it anyway, especially if you think you may shoot for more boost.

Only if you already have the exhaust off and even then, only slightly since most of it has to be removed from underneath anyway.

All this depending on weather or not it's in your budget, of course.
