Newbie takes his first steps...or not
Hi all,
I think I may have made a huge mistake by purchasing a beat up '93 miata with 230k miles on the odometer. Yeah.
I'm 22, I love cars, and I wanted in on the action! I threw caution (and common sense) to the wind ponied up 2k and purchased this...pile... I'mpretty sure certain that I overpaid
Just take a look:
Everything is as I bought it.
If I keep it, I've got some work cut out for me...but should I keep it?
I come to you for guidance.

Well... your dipstick handle isn't broken so you have got that going for you :-D
I think you could get a better miata for $2k the question is though, can you resell that one for what you paid for it?
I feel like at times I paid too much for mine also BUT I keep working on it and fixing it up and I'm happy with my purchase. That's ultimately what matters...
I will also say, however, if that is your only car and you absolutely need a car everyday you should get something else. There is a strong possibility something on it will require more work than you can do in a weekend... of course any car you buy this old regardless of price runs this risk.
TLDR: do what makes you happy if you can afford to do so.

Wish I did my research into initial owner satisfaction.
Im gonna try to see if I can get a quick 2k. If not, I might take a trade-in for an nb that's currently sitting in [our] shop. The NA is going to cost me more immediately as well as in the long run.
If I do indeed keep it, I plan on either going with FM's turbo kit. That's after a swap, as IDK if I wanna spend 5k turbocharging a 230k engine.

How are the rocker panels?
What do you want to do with it?
You might have over paid a bit but not too crazy much depending on the area. Its hard to find even a beat Miata in my area for sub 2k. It doesn't look too bad. A good cleaning and a lot of love will be needed.
