Default A newb to the miata world

Hey everyone! I purchased a red 91 with 70k miles about a month ago... since then i have put in Tein Basic Coilovers, a harddog cage, some sticky tires and an alignment.

I spent lots of years in the MK1 Mr2 world. Building several motors... supercharged, Nitrous, Full custom turbo 1.6L with 260 whp ect.....

So coming from that background I know how much forced induction cost and am TRYING to stay away from it in the miata.... BUT i also know how much FUN it is.

The miata is screaming for more power, and i find myself browsing the pages of this forum. I don't know how long i can resist taking the plunge and going turbo. It would be so easy for this car compared to my MR2's...! that makes it way tempting.

On another note; after searching, I can not find many people at all running nitrous in these cars. I have 2 complete kits sitting in my garage. the bottle would take up most of my trunk but it would be basically free power... thoughts???

nitrous oxide is only 'free' if you can create the N2O yourself.

We define it this way:
Add nitrous if you want to "try" extra power.
Add turbo if you want to "use" extra power.

Fair enough... As mentioned in my post... i have had both.

I am not a punk kid wanting to race 5.0s.

Just looking for input from those who have used this power adder on a miata specifically

The miata is a blast with even a small turbo kit. If you can find a used Greddy kit, you'll be able to add a turbo without a ton of cost. Unfortunately, as soon as you see 150hp, you'll want 200, then 250....

I'm wrestling for 300 right now, this **** is addicting!
