Just picked up a 1991 Miata about a month ago and am thrilled with the car. Can't believe I didn't get one sooner. Had plenty of other toys in the last 20 years including a 240sx, Mazdaspeed protege, and 91 sentra se-r with a sr20det. This Miata is like a big kid go kart. The one drawback is the power situation. Having already owned several turbo cars this Miata has just no go... even with the 1.8 swap it has. It needs a turbo and here I am.
Plans are for a budget build(I know nails on chalk board), but not because of money really. Could go all out if I wanted to. It's just that I'm not looking for insane power. I think 200 wheel hp will satisfy my lust for more power and ive been around the car hobby long enough to know where and how to cut cost corners. Prolly end up with a legit T25(hopefully one pulled off of a sr20det) set on a cast log manifold. Nothing fancy. The name of the car is gonna be "Good Enough", if that tells you the ethos of how the cars gonna be built. Not gonna be a daily or track car. Just something I can play with when I'm feeling frisky. My daily is the 5.0L AWD Mountaineer in the background. Has the GT-40P heads and runs like a top.
Anyway figured I would do the introduction thing like a proper newb should. Later.
