To put it in perspective OP, to build a miata that really makes 500whp reliably, you will be north of $15k into the engine, turbo hardware, transmission, and rear end. Not including all the costs of the rest of the **** that needs to be updated and beefed up to support that. While it is "doable" based on the little we know about the car, and the pictures you posted, we are highly skeptical.

I think you need to stop listening to the tooner and previous owner, and start doing real research on the parts that are on the car. You'll likely find a lot of deviations from the claims and the truth. Everything that you've mentioned sounds like snake oil from these guys.
