Hey all, just picked up my first miata today, and best of all its turbo, found an amazing deal, the builder was very cool and knowledgeable with fabrication and building motors, too good of a deal to pass up considering people in this area wanted 5k for an NA miata with 150k on the odometer So this is a 97 Montego Blue Miata
Turbo kit:
Custom manifold
Holset HX35 @ 17psi
38mm wastegate
50mm bov
3" downpipe
4" Z06 Intake
Engine:
eagle rods
stock pistons with sealed power rings
port matched rebuilt head
arp head studs
coolant reroute
Trans:
Stock 5 Speed
Exedy Stage 2
Management:
MS3X
Evo injectors
Wahlboro 190lph
Everything else is stock...for now
My wife and I got this car so she can commute to work, and for a little around town rocket ship. She currently has a Cobb Stg 2 2014 WRX, which is a ton of fun, but gas mileage around here with the constant stop and go is around 19mpg. Now that this car is in the stable, my 05 MCS will be going byebye, I'll miss it slightly
Plans
-Six speed swap with a stronger clutch, that exedy is beyond its limit in my opinion
-Suspension, nothing too slammy, just a touch of lowering, also check out all bushings and replace whatever is worn
-Rims/tires, I have a VERY rare set of 15x7 OZ's that would look amazing on this car especially seeing as the car and rim color combo would flow well, just have to get them shipped down from my old house in Connecticut.
-MOAR POWAR, I have already downloaded the TunerStudio and MegaLog Viewer, I would love to learn how to do some of the basics, but I will definitely hand it over to a professional/experienced tuner in my area to smooth it all over.
Also before anyone asks, I dont plan on ever tracking this car, autox or drag racing, just wanted a little sleeper that'll surprise a few people from time to time, I spent the majority of the drive home today at 5 under the posted limit. So yeah, thanks for having me, sorry for whoever actually read this whole post.
