MX5 driver in kent
Hi All,
My names Adam I'm 28 and I live in Kent (South East UK).
I work as a service engineer/trainer for medical devices and I have a blue 99 1.8 MX5 as my daily driver which has a few modifications and big plans for future modifications.
So far I've only taken the car to the Nurburgring (last year, highly recommended), but hoping to do a few track days in the UK this year.
Looking forward to expanding my knowledge and meeting some people who share the same passion for these cars as I have.
Thanks,
Adam.

Thanks sixshooter (nice icon by the way!), that's good to know.
Mainly forced induction (turbo) hopefully.
So far I've relocated the washer bottle, fitted an alloy radiator, a wideband and the megasquirt is scheduled to go in (once I finish the alternator circuit (hopefully soon thanks to westfieldmx5)).
It's a work in process, be it slow. As its my daily I'm taking it one thing at a time.
Thanks,
Adam.

I sure hope so, fun or challenging? I'm not sure yet, it will be my first time at this so at the moment I'm just reading and reading.
Part of me can't wait to get it in, part of me is really nervous ha!
Am I right in assuming the base maps are pretty much the stock ECU parameters?
Thanks, Adam.

Actually, there are some differences. Some parts of the base timing maps are more conservative than stock. Most people use the base timing maps and tailor the AFR targets to their liking. The idle wil require some manual intervention to be right because every car is a little different. Then they use TunerStudio's VE Analyze Live feature to tune the VE table outside of the idle cells. It will tune the fueling to match your target AFRs while you drive the car around.
