LeroyTurbo Introduction
Hello, My name is Jonathan, and i'm from Chardon Ohio. I'm a mechanical Engineer working for a contract engineering company called AspireTEC. I am also the mechanical designer for ONE-10 Sports. (a branch of AspireTEC) we make cycling products, made in the USA.
I have a 96 Miata that I got about a year ago, and used it as the get-a-way vehicle in our wedding. I bought it with 17" rims, but other than that it was stock.
This winter I pulled the engine, re-built it and installed a turbo from a 1989 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, a friend had given me the turbo. The rest of the system i pieced together myself. currently it has the following Mods:
-turbo running 6 psi boost
-BOV and intercooler (don't know the brands- got them used)
-Voodoo box I and MSD from Flyin' Miata
-Boost guage and wideband guage
-A pillar gauge mount
-F1 racing stage 2 clutch
-removed the cat
-strut brace
-K & N air filter
-smoked turn signals
-custom exhaust system I welded together myself
-Ram Horn style exhaust header
I'm not planning on doing a whole lot more:
-hood cowl
-headlight intake scoop
-re-paint body
-build custom speaker mounts for behind headrests
right now I'm just trying to work out all the bugs. been chasing down oil leaks ever since I got it running again. But I think I finally got the last one sealed. Here are some picture, including one with my lovely wife next to the car. we are planning to take our vacation in it this summer if I can get it running in time. I currently have a funny noise coming from the turbo that i still need to fix. I'm also still breaking in the new clutch, so I haven't gotten a chance to test the performance yet.
Looking forward to getting to use this site! looks like it should be helpful and educational.
Thanks,
Jonathan

Looks good, Begi S4 mani? Make sure to get a brace before it cracks, they are notoriously thin-walled.
Also your 'stage 2' clutch may hold 6-8psi but probably not more than that. You will need to upgrade to a real performance clutch if you want moar boosts.
Also you said you rebuilt the motor, but not what went in. Please don't tell me stock rods and pistons...

Nice car. Congrats on your wedding!
One guiding philosophy of this board is that you should now post more photos of the seksay parts of your car, pointed out by your lovely wife. Personally, I don't care for such photos, but it seems the general population, whom it seems consist mostly of unmarried males of younger demographic persuasion, do like them. So do your part for mt.net ad revenues, and post them please.
