Just Saying Hi!
Sup everyone?
My name is Doug, i'm a Mechanical Engineering student at Lehigh University and i just picked up a 1991 Miata for $500 dollars off craigslist. This is my second miata, and i intend on using some leftover parts from my wrx build to boost my little 1.6l. Hoping to gather some useful info from this forum, and hope i can lend a hand with some info as well!
Cheers!

Ehh, turbo+flanges, bypass valve, things of that nature. maybe injectors. who knows? haha
here's a quick pic of it:
bought it without the hardtop, it's on rokkor coilovers(which will be going up whenever i get a chance to work on it), and it has an eBay catback on it.
for 5 bills, i wasn't going to argue. It's a solid platform with oodles of potential.

Also, as far as using WRX parts on it, you should check out what MightyCarMods did with their leftovers from a Forester on their little 1.6. I'll be following a similar strategy.
obviously i won't be scouring this video and building my car off of everything exactly as they do it; but i will be following the basic idea. I have a bit of experience with turbo cars and plenty of ingenuity to boot. Should be fun

Ok, at least youve looked into it. lol Too many people try to base their Whole build off of whatever turbo they happen to have, and that really limits you in the long run. Ive seen that video before, and they do a pretty decent job with everything. Are you just gonna have a Manifold made for the setup?

I actually want to play my hand a little at fabricating my own flanges/piping. I'm gradually getting better at welding and I feel capable of building my own manifold. I'll use the stock header and cut the tubes off near the head and build off of those. I already have the stock dp flange from a Wrx downpipe that I cut up for the cats. So that should simplify things too. It'll be a fun little project.
