Just got got this miata. lots of problems... HELPPP!
Hello everybody,
im sure ill get my *** chewed because this is my first post on here and im noobish when it comes to mazda's..
So i have grown up on hondas, i know everything about them and one day i decided to get this Miata.. picked it up for 1500 bucks. It is a 1995 1.8 liter with the lsd rear end. the only mod it has is an ebay, obx fuel rail.
i drove it home, it ran good, but seemed like it had a lot of power loss.
i drove it back and forth for school for about a month and it drove decent. seemed like is had power loss still.. so one night i pulled into the garage. threw the codes up. and it showed tps sensor and egr valve both vacuum and vent.
I replaced the tps sensor and never fucked with the egr, because i had plans to just do egr delete. so i replaced tps and it would not start.. so i put back the other tps and once again no start. cranks good. doesn't start.
YES it does have spark, fuel, air etc. it has the basics. i just cant figure it out.. so i checked timing, its good. i replaced maf, iacv, all vacuum lines, fuel injectors(because they were bad) and still no start.. so i let it sit in the garage a few days. it started right up about three days later. i let it run. shut it off and once again, no start. :( somebody please help me!! im sorry about the super long storyline bull ****. just trying to give you guys everything you would need to know... and sorry that i dont have a signature yet!

UPDATE. so i pulled everything apart. and it was off timing by 2 teeth.. so i fixed the timing. it is 100 percent perfect.. BUT. the cas sensor is loose and out of wack so i cant really get ign timing perfect.. but it is still flooding. i do have spark to all four cylinders. but i dont really know if its enough spark. i feel like on hondas the spark is a lot brighter.
when i check the spark its a really dim orange..? is that normal?

Why is the CAS loose???
Why would you bother trying to get something working properly when you KNOW something is loose? Why don't you fix it? The CAS controls timing. You really need to do some of your own research and reading. If you don't know what something is, what it does, and why it may or may not be loose you need to figure it out for yourself. These are simple things. You know everything to know about a honda, but not a miata. They're not much different except the engine sits the right way. You have no excuse not to know.
Take that stupid aftermarket fuel rail off and put an original one on, with an original working FPR for that year car you have. It's probably not the reason it's flooding, it's probably flooding because of the timing, but this couldn't hurt.
Does it still have codes?

Like others have said. Problems on these things are typically simple or obscure. Since you know the CAS is loose, and it can cause a problem like you're describing, snug that thing down already. Even if it doesn't turn out to be the only problem, at least you can rule it out.
