Default I overpaid for 1993...turned out alright

Wussup? My name is Corey. I bought this super rad race car back in late Nov 2016 for a whopping $400....I'm pretty sure I overpaid. I told the lady I'd buy it as long as it starts and idles. It started......once.....GAME ON! Naturally it had the ugliest body kit known to man, I didn't even take a picture of the front bumper it was so disgusting. She had about 220k on the cluster and roughly 1.5" of grease build up underneath, literally from bumper to bumper. After an IMMEDIATE initial clean and tear down, she was named Claire.

After a thorough cleaning, the fun begins. Pulled motor and trans. Resealed motor from main to main, ARP head studs, and began the main project while I awaited parts. Engine internals were in surprisingly good condition, I can only assume prev owner added oil daily to compensate for the massive oil leak. Did FM steering rack depower, diy hood strust, brake booster line reroute, little jobs while awaiting paychecks and UPS. $$ installs comprised of Megan EZstreet II coilovers, new robbins soft top, Drag DR46 15x7, assorted goodies from pullapart.

My 3rd install attempt and my 2nd major anxiety attack. After that, I gave in and cut every factory crimp in the engine harness. About 3 weeks, 2 more anxiety attacks and a massive amount of support from my girlfriend...

Painted the bay while doing an unexpected re torquing of flywheel bolts, stormed 5 minutes into drying process. Had to throw motor back in, no time to sand and repaint. Will be doing a rework on that paint job next time I pull the motor.

The girlfriend left me because I wasn't giving her enough attention. I replied "Because race car" and began teaching myself how to basecoat clearcoat by process of trial and error. Went with Laguna Seca Blue. Been my daily for about 6 weeks now, had a little hiccup when flywheel bolts broke torque a few weeks ago, but been going strong since. Next step is DIY turbo. I plan to megasquirt DIY for management. Haven't decided on a turbo. Goal is boosted by christmas.
